Users' view of the Notifications module

Users can view notifications on their mobile devices.

Users must be signed in to view the Notifications module. If they have not already done that, they will be prompted to sign in when they open the Notifications module.

This section describes the views and available actions within the Notifications module. Push notifications that are viewed in the device's native notification list might behave differently. If the user has opted in to push notifications, and you have set up external applications to send then, push notifications will appear on the device whether the application is open or not.

The Notifications module contains two pages.

Page Description
The Notifications List When a user opens the Notifications module, Ellucian Mobile displays a list of the current notifications that have been sent to this user.
  • The user can tap an item to open the Notifications Detail page to view the full text of the notification.
  • "Sticky" notifications appear at the top of the list and are indicated by a colored bar. Users cannot delete these notifications. They remain on the list until they reach their expiration date.
  • Users can delete other notifications by swiping left and tapping Delete (iOS) or by deleting from the details page (Android).
The Notifications Details page The Notifications Details page displays the full text of the notification item.

If the system that sent the notification can include a response link, users will see a button that allows them to take appropriate action, such as making a payment.

Users can share the notification with other people, and can delete the notification from this page if it is not a sticky notification.
