Add an Ellucian module and specify standard settings

Use this procedure to add an Ellucian application module to Ellucian Mobile and specify the standard settings that apply to all modules. You will also need to specify module-specific settings for most modules.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Ellucian Mobile Cloud Configuration System.
  2. In the Configurations list, expand your configuration and click Application Modules.
  3. In the Modules list, click the + icon at the bottom.
  4. On the Add Module form, click the Ellucian Modules tab.
  5. Click the + icon next to the Ellucian module that you want to add.
  6. In the Module section of the module configuration screen, enter display and availability settings:

    Display Name If desired, change the display name from the default. This is the name of the module as displayed in the list of modules in the configuration tool and on users' devices.
    Icon If desired, change the icon from the default. Browse to choose one of the available icons, or enter the fully-formed URL of a custom icon.
    Display in Menu Select this check box (the default) if you want this module to be displayed in the module list on user's devices.
    Clear this check box if you do not want this module displayed in the module list on user's devices. For example:
    • You want this module to be launched only in response to a beacon notification.
    • You want to temporarily hide this module because it is only applicable at certain times during the school year.

    The module still appears in the Modules list in the Ellucian Mobile Cloud Configuration application, but with an icon indicating that it is hidden from users' devices.

    Available to Specify the Mobile Roles or Role Service Roles of users who should be able to view this instance of the module. The default is Everyone.

    These are roles that you set up in the configuration general settings, as described in Understand roles. Mobile users must be logged in to have a role assigned to them. Adding role filtering to a module will require them to log in to be able to view the content of that module.

    Hide from users before they login Select this check box if you want to prevent users from viewing this instance of the module in the menu before logging in to Ellucian GO.

    This field is unavailable if the module is not displayed on the menu; that is, if you cleared the Display in Menu check box.

  7. If you want to enable launching of this module by Ellucian GO users in response to a beacon notification, enter the settings below.
    Before entering these settings, you must define the beacon in the Beacons server plugin using the procedure in Add a beacon definition to Ellucian Mobile.
    1. Select the Use Beacon to Launch Module check box.
    2. Enter the settings below in the Beacon Info section that appears after you select the check box.

    Name Select one of the beacons that you defined in the Beacons server plugin.
    Notification Message Enter the text of the notification that will appear on the user's device.
  8. Click Save.
