Set up multiple Mobile Integration Server Web Service Apps

If you want to have multiple active configurations at the same time, you need to set up multiple Mobile Integration Server web service apps.

Many institutions will want to set up additional configurations for situations like the following:

  • You have a published configuration that is in use, and you want to use a separate configuration for testing other changes.
  • You have multiple schools or campuses that you want to be listed as separate schools in the Ellucian GO app. By using different configurations, each of these entities can have its own unique branding and information. For example, a consortium of community colleges can publish separate mobile apps to give each college its own identity, or an institution can publish separate apps for a law school or medical school.

Each configuration that is active or published must have its own, dedicated Mobile Integration Server web service app installed and configured. You can either install a new Tomcat instance to run the Mobile Server web app, or you can set up multiple Mobile Server web apps on a single Tomcat instance. Using separate Tomcat instances might give you better performance in high-traffic situations but requires more resources.
