Directory module setup - overview

Setting up the Directory module includes creating directories of people and then creating instances of the Directory module that search those directories.

Directories

You will create directories using the Directory server plugin delivered with Ellucian Mobile. Examples of directories are Student, Faculty, and Staff. For each directory, you will specify properties including:

  • The data source.
    • For Banner or PowerCampus, this could be the SIS database or an LDAP directory.
    • For Colleague, this must be an LDAP directory.
  • User attributes (such as name, email address, and phone number) displayed on the mobile device for each person.
  • The search query used to retrieve user information from the source.

Directory module

You will create instances of the Directory module. For each instance, you will specify which directories are included, and which mobile users (based on role) can see that instance in their mobile devices. See Set up the Directory application module.
