Release Notes for Ellucian Mobile 4.0

Ellucian Mobile 4.0 delivers expanded ILP integration features, a new Student Finances module, and new configuration management capabilities.

Release Date

Release 4.0 was delivered on May 29, 2015.

ILP integration enhancements:

Previously, only students at Colleague institutions could view Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) information such as class assignments, events, and activities on their devices. Also, students could access the information only through the Courses module. Ellucian Mobile 4.0 extends these capabilities to Banner institutions that use ILP 4.2 or later.

The information is also more readily available to students through a new ILP module within the Ellucian GO app, widgets that can be used outside of the app, and support for the Apple Watch.

Student Financials module:

The new Student Financials module displays the student's current account balance and recent payments. There is an optional, configurable button that you can set up to take the student to a payment gateway or to display other details about the student's financial information.

Wearables:

Users of Android Wear and Apple Watches now receive Ellucian Mobile push notifications on their watches. Apple Watch users can also open Ellucian Mobile on their watches and access their assignments and campus maps.

Cloud Configuration tool enhancements:

Mobile administrators now sign into the Cloud Configuration tool through SSO from the Ellucian Customer Center. When you sign into the Customer Center, an Ellucian Mobile button appears on your Work tab.

If you manage multiple institutions, you can sign in with your Hub account to access all of your institutions. You no longer need separate credentials for each institution. The Cloud Configuration tool opens the most recent institution that you have worked on, and you can select a different institution from the drop-down list at the top of the screen.

You can now more easily create new configurations by copying existing ones.

Mobile Administrators with User Management privileges can now assign role-based permissions to staff members to give them access to the Cloud Configuration tool and to limit their access to certain functions in the tool. You can assign the following roles:

  • User Management — Grants the user access to the User Management screen to manage the permissions of other institutional users.
  • Configuration Management — Grants the user the ability to add, delete, and edit all configurations.
  • Send Notifications — Grants the user access to the Send Notifications pages in all configurations.
  • Appearance/About — Grants the user access to the Appearance and About pages in all configurations.
