Ellucian Mobile Overview
Ellucian Mobile, powered by Ellucian Ethos, provides faculty, prospects, students, staff, and other constituents with access to key campus information and services from their mobile devices. This section provides an overview of Ellucian Mobile.
Before You Begin
This section describes some advance preparations that you can make to help your Ellucian Mobile setup process to go as smoothly as possible.
Install Supporting Software
Before you can install the Ellucian Mobile components, there are several prerequisite software components that must be installed. Note that Grails is also required, but does not need to be installed separately because all Grails components that you need are included in the WAR file that you install later.
Install Ellucian Mobile Software
Install the Ellucian Mobile WAR file and perform basic configuration steps.
Set up the Mobile Cloud Configuration System
Set up the Ellucian Mobile Cloud Configuration System. Description of the process for signing from the Ellucian Hub, how to create and enter the configuration settings, and how to specify the SIS credentials.
Manage Users and User Permissions for the Mobile Cloud Configuration System
You can give selected people access to modify specific elements of your mobile configurations, such as user management, configuration management, branding, or sending push notifications.

Manage Configurations
In addition to the ability to add a new configuration manually, you can create a new configuration by copying an existing one, export configuration information, import configuration information, and migrate a configuration to a different database.
Set up multiple Mobile Integration Server Web Service Apps
If you want to have multiple active configurations at the same time, you need to set up multiple Mobile Integration Server web service apps.
Set up Load Balancing and Redundancy
Multiple Mobile Integration Servers can be set up for a single configuration. This can be done to scale the solution to support more mobile users, or for redundancy. Deployment of multiple Mobile Servers requires a shared data storage using either a Microsoft SQL Server or an Oracle database.
Ellucian Mobile on Wearable Devices
Users can view push notifications on their Android Wear and Apple Watch devices. Users with Apple Watches can also view ILP assignments and maps.
Debugging
Send detailed information from Ellucian Mobile to the log file to support troubleshooting.

Set up the About screen

The About screen provides users with version information, your institution’s contact information, and a link to your privacy policy.

Procedure

Log in to the Ellucian Mobile Cloud Configuration System.
In the configurations list, expand your configuration and click Appearance.
In the module configuration area of the page, click the About tab.

Enter the information described in the table below.


Field	Description	Example
Phone	Enter the phone number that you want mobile users to call to contact you. For example, you can enter your institution's general phone number or an IT help desk number. Format the number as you want it to appear on the devices.	(212) 555-0154
Email	Enter an email address where mobile users can contact you. For example, you can enter an email address for your IT help desk.	ellucian.helpme@ellucian.com
Website URL	Enter the fully qualified URL for the website that you want to direct mobile users to. For example, you can enter the URL for your institution's home page or a URL specifically for help with Ellucian Mobile.	http://ellucian.helpme.com
Privacy Policy Label	Enter the text that you want to use as the link to your privacy policy.	Ellucian U. Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy URL	Enter the fully qualified URL of an existing webpage that displays your privacy policy for mobile users. When users tap the privacy policy link, this page will open in the Web Frame module.	http://www.ellucianu.edu/mobile/privacy.htm
Display Privacy Policy in Menu	Controls whether the Privacy Policy module is displayed under the Actions group in the main menu.
Contact Information	Enter any additional text that you want to display on the About page. This can be a mailing address for your institution, an alternate phone number, or any other message.	Ellucian University 4375 Fair Lakes Court Fairfax, VA 22655
About Page Icon	Specify the icon that will be displayed next to the About option in the Ellucian GO menu. Browse to choose one of the available icons, or type the path to a different graphic file if you want to use your own icon. About Logo	Enter the publicly accessible URL of the image that you want to appear near the top of the page next to the version numbers. For best results, this image should have landscape orientation and be 196-by-86 pixels in size. If you leave this field blank, devices will show the background color instead.	http://cloud.ellucian.com/about-logo.png

Click Save.
