Replace a configuration

Replace a published configuration with a new configuration.

About this task

You might want to replace a configuration in the following situations:
  • You have added several significant enhancements to a test or development configuration. Rather than incorporating those enhancements into your currently published configuration, you can choose to replace the published configuration with the new configuration.
  • You have created a new configuration that runs on an Oracle or SQL Server database and are now ready to make that your live configuration.
The name of the configuration is embedded in the link that devices use to connect to the configuration.

Procedure

  1. Open the currently published configuration in the Cloud Configuration tool.
  2. Go to the General Settings page. Note the exact name of the configuration, and then change the name. Click Save.
  3. Go to the new configuration. On the General Settings page, enter the exact name of the previous configuration. Click Save.
  4. Follow the steps to Publish the configuration.
  5. Stop and restart the Tomcat instance that hosts the new configuration.
