Create a new configuration by copying an existing one

You can use the copy functionality to create a duplicate of an existing configuration.

Before you begin

Each configuration that is active or published must have its own, dedicated Mobile Integration Server web service app behind it. If you intend to copy to a new Mobile Integration Server, perform the steps to Set up multiple Mobile Integration Server Web Service Apps before you perform this procedure.

Procedure

  1. In the Cloud Configuration system, click the Configuration Management icon Manage Configurations button.
  2. Click Copy.
  3. Select the configuration that you want to use as the source of the copy.
  4. Indicate whether you want to copy the information to a New configuration or an Existing configuration.
If you select Existing, you must also select the configuration from the drop-down list.
  5. Click Next.
  6. If you are copying to a New configuration, enter the name of the new configuration along with the URL and Key of the Mobile Integration Server that has been prepared for the new configuration.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Choose whether you want to include connection information in your copy.
For example, if you are creating a test configuration from your production instance, you might not want to include connection information to your production databases and APIs. A list of what is excluded from the copy is displayed on the screen.
  9. Click Finish.
You will see your destination configuration in the configuration list. Be aware that no password information is included in the copy, so you will need to enter those in General Settings and some server plugins.
